The Provincial Grand Lodge of Durham is the governing body for all the Masonic Lodges within the Province of Durham which covers the old County area of Durham and stretches from the Tyne to the Tees rivers.

The United Grand Lodge of England came into being in 1717 with the Province of Durham, one of the oldest Provinces in the country existing since 1734.
